1708 Gallery Space Grant Residency
I was one of three artists awarded the Space Grant Residency at 1708 Gallery in Richmond, VA during the COVID-19 quarantine. As the first artist in the cohort, which was supported in part by VCU ICA, I spent May 11-24, 2020 in the gallery working on my film Sirena's Gallery (now making the festival circuit). This involved producing related drawings and paintings as props for the film; many of these pieces were put up in the gallery window for street viewing. In between the cracks, I worked on finalizing my book Heaven Is A Photograph (now available from CLASH Books) and other miscellaneous projects. The University of Richmond invited me to give a talk to faculty and staff at the culmination of my residency. From May-August 2021, I am participating in the gallery's satellite show at Linden Row Inn in Richmond.
