Theatre Festival Directing

Since 2021, I have directed three original plays for New York City theatre festivals: one for the Short Play Fest at The Players Theatre in Greenwich Village and two for the Downtown Urban Arts Festival at the Abrons Arts Center and Theatre Row. In these instances, I was directing the work of others, not work that I had written as playwright.

In October 2022, I directed "Designated Killer" by Meny Beriro for Boo! Festival of Short Plays at The Players Theatre in New York City. It starred Paul Maurizio and Khial Watson. The play won the Audience Choice award at the festival. The full play appears in the recording below:

In June 2022, I directed "The Hard Knock Lyfe" play by Cris Eli Blak for the Downtown Urban Arts Festival at Theater Row in New York City. The cast included Jovel Roystan, Jehiny Rodriguez, Kara Green, and Abel Santiago. The play was mentioned in Playbill. View promotional photos I took for "The Hard Knock Lyfe" here.

In June 2021, I directed “Breakz,” a one-act play written by Cris Eli Blak at the Abrons Arts Center Playhouse in NYC for the Downtown Urban Arts Festival. The cast included Abel Santiago, Jacob Maximillian Baron, and Julianna Greenidge. We were mentioned in two separate Broadway World stories.
