Harlem Mestiza
Harlem Mestiza (Maverick Duck Press, 2017) is a chapbook that follows the central conflicts of a biracial girl whose life is town between Harlem and the Lower East Side of Manhattan. In The Broadkill Review, Nina Bennett wrote, "The seventeen poems in this tightly-written narrative chapbook are grounded firmly in New York, packed full of imagery of places such as the Rockaways, Harlem, Macy’s on 34th, 11th Street, Morningside Heights, Washington Heights, and “going to the beach/by A train.”
The chapbook was featured in the 2018 26th Annual Poets House Showcase in New York City. Order Harlem Mestiza here. |
