Heartbreak in Tompkins Square Park
My original drama "Heartbreak in Tompkins Square Park" had its first public presentation as a staged reading at Theatre Row in New York City as part of the Rogue Theater Festival, in collaboration with Abingdon Theatre Company, on June 7, 2023.
Here is a synopsis of the play: Aiden, a gay white man in 1950s upper-class New York, enters a loveless marriage with Querida, a former stage actress with a shady family history, and has a son. His life changes when his secretary, Cadenza, a lesbian who escaped the Jewish orthodoxy, hatches a plan that will allow him to be with his lover Bentley, a Black painter and gallery owner.
