La Gringa Guanaca
La Gringa Guanaca is a feature-length experimental documentary about my identity as a Salvadoran-American growing up in the aftermath of El Salvador's civil war. Over the course of five years living in New York City, I slowly explored my role as part of the Salvadoran diaspora and how intergenerational trauma from the motherland affects me. The film combines video art, experimental filmmaking, non-fiction interview, testimony, and theatre performance documentation. Development starting during my M.F.A. DIAP program at The City College of New York. I brought the project to completion during my OHMA program at Columbia University. This film is currently making its festival circuit and is not available online. It will first air on RGMTV in Danville, Virginia.
