Mural Protocol
The following outlines my standard requirements for proceeding with a mural commission:
• The project will be discussed by phone or email and a site visit will be scheduled.
• A written contract must be signed by both parties. This contract will specify the mural design/concept, cost, method and schedule of payment, and deadline. A concept sketch is not included in the fee unless paid for and specified in the contract.
• A 50% deposit is due upfront. The remaining 50% must be paid within 30 days of the commission completion. Cash, Zelle, or Venmo is preferred. If paid via PayPal, the client must cover any service fees associated with the transaction. Personal checks and debit/credit cards cannot be accepted.
• Cell phone photos will be provided to the client upon completion of the mural. Professional photos will incur an additional cost and may be purchased upfront with the mural commission or ordered upon mural completion (and paid for separately). I reserve the right to sub-contract a photographer of my choosing to document the murals. I may use any and all photos of the murals for marketing purposes.
• Murals commissioned within the five boroughs of New York City are considered local. Anything commissioned outside of the city will incur a travel fee based upon mileage from my home address. This includes commissions in Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties, or New Jersey and Connecticut. Any project more than 30 miles from my Brooklyn address must also cover a standard hotel stay (number of nights dependent upon the project.) From 2020 through early 2021, I am not booking commissions outside of New York City due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All health and safety guidelines must be observed.
