Poe Museum of Virginia
An undergraduate research grant from VCUarts allowed me to direct The Persistence of Poe, a documentary about Edgar Allan Poe's life in Richmond, VA and his influence upon the contemporary arts & culture scene there. The grant also funded the production of related short experimental films inspired by Poe and his works. I premiered the documentary and a couple of the shorts at the Poe Museum in Richmond and showed them at additional venues in Virginia and New York City. They also aired on PBS stations in Virginia and received press coverage in The Huffington Post, Style Weekly, and other outlets. The Facebook page for the project maintains a steady following. The Persistence of Poe represented one of the earliest projects for Quail Bell Press & Productions and Quail Bell Magazine, which I continue to run today.
