I work in digital photography, with a strong focus on post-production methods. Many of my photography projects also include a text component and are presented in book or video form, or in collaboration with a writer for pieces published in Quail Bell Magazine. While an undergraduate at VCUarts, I won a national emerging artist grant in photography from the Puffin Foundation, which set me on the path to pursue my own fine art photography projects. I went on to earn an MFA in Digital & Interdisciplinary Art Practice from The City College of New York-CUNY. Many of my grad school projects were photo-based and realized with the support of grants, scholarships, and residencies.
I am the author of the photography collections Hello, New York—The Living and Dead and Utica Avenue and Beyond, as well as Force Fed, a book of letters, photographs, and napkin poems. Here are links to my photography and poetry books:
• Heaven is a Photograph (CLASH Books) - read the featured interview in the Portland Review here.
• Belladonna Magic (Shanti Arts)
• Water for the Cactus Woman (Spuyten Duyvil)
